He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts award, a Chamber Music America grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and was a Grammy Award nominee in arranging for the jazz classic “Cherokee” from the Arturo Sandoval album I Remember Clifford. Many of his former and current students have also earned Latin Grammy and Grammy nominations and awards.
