A Miami-born vocalist, Cécile first won the Thelonious Monk Competition and subsequently was voted Rising Star-Jazz Artist of the Year in the 62nd DownBeat Critics Poll; and her album, Woman-Child, was the top Jazz Album of the Year, in addition to her winning Female Vocalist and Rising Star-Female Vocalist. This young artist has become a major star and the jazz world is excited to see what she will do next.
